Water Leak Detection Products
There never has been a time more important to conserve and save water. 60% of houses have suffered some type of water leak in the past three years. From just a tap left on or a sink overflowing, to a major main water pipe bursting. Imagine the misery of coming home after a well deserved vacation, only to find stained carpets, and soiled furniture due to flooding or even a eye-popping water bill because a faucet was left running. The process of correcting the situation would be extremely uncomfortable, time consuming, and worst of all, very costly.
The damage to property and water wastage can be colossal!
Many offices and homes are left unoccupied during the weekends. Did you know in one weekend an office block had a pipe come off their vending machine. It went undiscovered until Monday morning. It was calculated it wasted the equivalent drinking water for a family of four for SIXTEEN YEARS!
It was an upstairs office causing damage to not only it but the ones below. The estimated cost of damage was $46,000 to the facilities and weeks of those offices being closed. Imagine the man hours lost and frustration because of something that could have been easily prevented for less then 1% of the cost to repair the damage.
FloodCheck™ is a water leak detection product that is an electric valve fitted just after your main shut off valve. It works by monitoring the water usage for your property. Different models detect leaks in different ways, but the principle is you tell the FloodCheck™ what your normal usage at anytime would be. This would be measured in the amount of water you normally use at any given minute. If for any reason the demand for water starts to approach the given maximum you set for FloodCheck™ an audible two minute warning is sounded. If you are home and the water usage is normal, you can lower the demand for half a second and the monitoring unit will reset itself. If you ignore the alarm or are not at home, the FloodCheck™ unit will assume it has detected a water leak and shut off the water to protect from any potential water damage. Once you come home and verify that everything is ok, you can start the water again with a simple push of a button. |
